Enjoy access to excellent books while supporting the school!
The Ignatius Book Fair is coming (back) to town! From November 12 to 16, Donahue Academy families – as well as parishioners and community members not enrolled in the school – will have the opportunity to browse and buy from Ignatius Book Fairsā deep catalog of wholesome books for K-8 children.
An interesting bit of town trivia is the fact that Ignatius Press and Ave Maria University (AMU) first partnered back in 2023 to launch the Ignatius Book Fairs. Since then, they have scheduled over 900 book fairs all over the U.S. This latest iteration has been a response to the fact that āmany dioceses and schools are seeking alternatives to Scholastic, which has declined in its credibility in recent years. Ignatius Press and AMU provide a trusted book fair experience, equipped with literature consistent with Christian values,ā the companyās website reads.
The need has proven acute and the company has quickly scaled. Notably, many of the Donahue Academy moms who have volunteered with the schoolās book fairs are now working at Ignatius Book Fairs, helping schools around the country provide fairs full of what it calls good books. āA good book excels in literary quality while also inspiring the mind, moving the heart, and inspiring the Christian to live a life of faith and virtue.ā
Importantly, proceeds from book fair sales return to schools. āGreat books form the foundation of a classical education, and we are thrilled to be able offer our families and our community the chance to shop from an amazing selection of titles while supporting our parish school, known for excellence in Catholic, classical education,ā said Dr. Marc Snyder, Principal. āWe encourage families in the community to experience the book fair, and thank them in advance for supporting Donahue Academy,ā he concluded.
