Mrs. Abril Borjon—affectionately known as Profe by her students and families—is a multi-talented world languages and fine arts educator dedicated to cultivating virtue, beauty, and creativity in her students. With a background that bridges business, international law, world languages education, etiquette and protocol, and the fine arts, she brings a uniquely comprehensive and humanistic perspective to every classroom and community she serves.
Mrs. Borjon is the Vice President of her family-owned CPA corporate firm and the founder of Virtus Talentum AMDG – The Ave Maria Atelier, a Catholic classical fine arts atelier that integrates fine and traditional arts, world languages, etiquette, and virtue formation for children and families. An academically trained fine artist, she also completed studies in haute couture and fashion, as well as traditional and contemporary embroidery – specializing in Mexican needlework techniques. Holding the equivalent of a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and International Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, México, Mrs. Borjon is also a College Board–certified AP Spanish Language and Literature educator. She served in the U.S. Department of State as an Arrest and Detentions Specialist within both the American Citizen Services and Immigrant Visa Sections and has extensive experience as a Senior Immigration Paralegal. Her broad international and intercultural background deeply informs her approach to teaching, mentorship, and community building.
Mrs. Borjon has been teaching within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Venice and the Archdiocese of Miami as a Catholic art and Spanish educator. She has also served as U.S. Coordinator for the SANCTUS Catholic Movement at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Miami Beach, Florida, is a Good Shepherd catechist, and currently serves as a Spanish lector at Ave Maria Catholic Church.
Mrs. Borjon has been married for twenty-one years to the love of her life and is the proud mother of five beautiful children, all of whom generously share their talents and time serving as altar servers and in the parish choir. She feels profoundly blessed to live in the town to which Our Lady led her more than 10 years ago—a place where she helps foster a lifelong love of learning and collaborates with parents in both the homeschool community and Donahue Academy.
Grateful to be back among her beloved students, whom she dearly missed during her time away in Tampa, Mrs. Borjon continues to grow and learn alongside them. At Donahue Academy, she previously taught levels I-V of Spanish, Heritage Spanish, Advanced Spanish Literature, Fine Arts for grades 3–12, Academic Drawing, and Textile Arts, while also serving as a rhetoric stage mentor and Yearbook advisor. She is delighted to return to the school’s beautiful building, having had the privilege of contributing to its beautification project.
