Pro-Life Club Makes the Front Page!
January 30, 2022

Last week, our parish school’s Pro-Life Club organized an excursion to St. Augustine and Sarasota. This prayerful event, attended not only by Donahue Academy students, but also members of Ave Maria Parish’s Religious Education program and local homeschoolers, is making headlines, literally. The Florida Catholic’s cover story for the January 21st edition was our students’ trip.
Why did our students brave cold weather to march seven times around the Planned Parenthood in Sarasota? When asked, here’s what one student had to say:
We are here to show that our generation cares about life. Being here is where God wants us. We are the Pro-Life generation.
Donahue Academy’s next Community & Culture night is Wednesday, February 9th 6:30pm-8:00pm in the school’s library. This session focuses on the Elementary School Grammar Stage and features Mrs. Linda Fox’s keynote, “Building a Foundation on the Cornerstone.”
As usual, the evening includes refreshments and snacks, remarks from a Donahue Academy parent and a student performance. Our new music teacher, Mr. Trenton O’Neil, will lead our Kindergarten through Second Grade students in a medley of songs.
If you have not been able to come to one of our parish school’s Community & Culture nights, don’t miss this opportunity to learn the Why behind the What of our Catholic, classical school.
