Donahue Academy is a Pre-K to Grade 12 school located in beautiful Ave Maria, FL. We are operated by Ave Maria Parish, which is part of the Diocese of Venice.Donahue’s administrators, faculty, staff, and families come together in steadfast commitment to form young persons in faith, will, and intellect. At the heart of our ethos lies a singular focus on a Catholic, classical education model augmented by robust fine arts, athletics, and community programming. We live by our motto.
I was one of the founding faculty members here, and I am thrilled to be back as principal. We have seen amazing successes over our 18-year history, including some of the area’s highest standardized test scores, athletic State Championships, several National Merit Scholars, and alumni succeeding in graduate schools, business, the arts, and the professions; and we just had our first graduate ordained to the priesthood. We are proud of what we have accomplished and hopeful about all that is yet to come as we encounter Christ and pursue excellence in all things. Come visit, and join us for daily Mass!

Donahue Academy’s rich plastic and dramatic arts and music programming introduces students to the transcendental value of beauty from their earliest years at the school. Students learn theory, technique, tradition, and expression in a methodical and sequential way. Whether they perform history skits in class, build world wonders for display, contribute artwork to the silent auction, or put on capstone choir and drama performances, year-over-year Donahue students grow in both confidence and appreciation of all that is beautiful.
